Using real-time MPEG-2 multiplexing in your own application has never been easier. The MuxXpert is extended with an Application Programming Interface (MuxXpert API) that enables seamless integration of real-time Transport-Stream multiplexing functions with custom software. As an example, the application can generate Electronic Program Guide (EPG) SI tables and insert them in a real-time stream using MuxXpert-API calls.

The MuxXpert API comes in the form of a .NET class library. The developer can use it from any .NET language, such as C++/CLI, C# or VB.NET. The real-time multiplexing can run on a standard desktop or industrial PC in conjunction with any mix of DekTec input and output adapters. For instance, the widely used DTA-160 can be used to read a TSoIP stream, modify it and play out a jitter free TSoIP stream again.

All advanced multiplexing functions available in the MuxXpert can be used: re-multiplexing of services and components, querying the structure of Transport Streams, SI extraction, table cycling, adaptation of PIDs, services, tables and descriptors.
